Year 6’s trip to Condover Hall
On Wednesday the 18th of September 2019, Year 6 and four teachers travelled by coach to Condover Hall (Shropshire) for their residential trip.
Condover Hall is an elegant Grade 1 three-storey Elizabethan sandstone building which also houses an activity centre and onsite accommodation for Primary and Secondary school aged children.
During their time there, Year 6 took part in a range of challenging but exciting activities.
Here are a few that they participated in:
The Gladiator Wall was a tough challenge to complete. The activity involved climbing through obstacles while being suspended high in the sky. Alfie from Year 6 informed us, “I enjoyed the challenge very much and was ecstatic when I finally reached the top.”
The ‘Trapeze’ is a tower with blocks on either side that help you to climb further. You have to reach onto the top platform, then jump off into the air and grasp the metal bar hanging in front of you.
Survival Skills was an activity where Year 6 were required to make a fire using only cotton wool and natural materials. They were also challenged to create a den using the resources around them.
Wet n’ Wacky
Year 6 were tasked with a number of competitive team games within the swimming pool. This involved collecting fish with a range of numbers on, or quickly racing to a ball to be the first to throw it through the hoop.
In Busted, the class of Year 6 were required to answer a series of general knowledge questions to outwit their opponents.
As you can see, Year 6 had the adventure of a life-time during their time at Condover Hall. Maybe next year you will too……………
